Mary Lee Cummings

Mrs. Mary Lee Cummings, age 105, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Cross Roads Retirement Community. Mrs. Cummings was born July 28, 1908 in Wilkes County to York Bernard and Lillie Elmyra Gambill Johnson. Mrs. Cummings was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Cummings; son, David Cummings; sister, Lydia DeBorde and brothers, Sam Johnson, James Johnson and Y.B. Johnson. Survivors include: daughter, Patty Clark and husband Bill of Asheboro; grandchildren, Janie Allen and husband Derrick and Debbie Doby; great-grandchildren, Garrett Allen, Katie Allen and Hannah Doby. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Cross Roads Retirement Community main center, 1302 Old Cox Rd Asheboro, NC 27205.
