Mrs. Linda Marie Anders Hodges, age 66, went home to Heaven Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hodges was born September 24, 1947 in Grayson County, VA to Walter and Dorothy Ruth Billings Anders. Mrs. Hodges was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her nephew, Rev. Matthew Hinson and his wife Bailey Anderson Hinson. Survivors include: husband, Sonny Hodges of the home; son, Tim Hodges and wife Beth of Elkin; daughter, Sherrie Brown and husband Kevin of State Road; brother, Gerald Anders and wife Judy of Fries, VA; sisters, Dorothy Taylor and husband Joe Mack of the Wytheville, VA, Jeanie Hinson and husband Tim of State Road, Mary Testerman and husband J.D. of Galax, VA and Gay Cornett and husband Stephen of Elk Creek, VA; grandchildren, Megan Hodges, Haley Hodges, Kari Hodges, Kristie Brown and Matthew Brown. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Taylor and Rev. Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, P.O. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital ICU and the nursing staff of ICU 1st & 2nd floor of Forsyth Medical Center.
