Mrs. Linda Jo Brooks age 63, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Brooks was born June 5, 1950 in Alleghany County to Estel & Elzora Watson Caudill. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Center Baptist Church of Thurmond and was the former owner of Country Folks Café. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Richard Brooks. Survivors include: son, Eric Richard Brooks and wife Donna of State road; daughter, Tammy Edwards of Thurmond; brother, Charles Caudill and wife Louise of West Jefferson; sisters, Alease Moxley of Sparta, Louise Edwards of Sparta, Shirley Cornett and husband Jerry of Sparta and Beverly Pruitt and husband Danny of Sparta; grandchildren, Hayden Brooks and Kohl Edwards. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Micky Brooks and Pastor Jimmy Gilreath officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Surry 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030.
