Mr. Homer Lee "Sonny" Mahan, age 74 passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Mr. Mahan was born June 20, 1939 in Cramerton, West Virginia to Homer and Zala Adkinson Mahan. Mr. Mahan was a member of Way of Life Full Gospel Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Joann Absher Mahan; daughter, Patricia Ann Cox; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include: sons, Johnny Mahan and wife Kimberly of Hamptonville and Junior Mahan of State Road; brothers, Gary Mahan and wife Patricia of State Road, Jimmy Mahan and wife Shirley of Hamptonville, Frank Mahan and wife Linda of Hamptonville, Gerald Mahan and wife Delma of Sparta, Roger Mahan and wife Linda of N. Wilkesboro, Larry Mahan of Texas, Michael Mahan of Dobson and Norman Mahan and wife Joann of Lexington; sister, Debbie Freeman and husband Steve of Lexington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Way of Life Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jimmy Mahan, Rev. Aubry Casstevens and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
