Mrs. Vanice Yarboro Kennedy, age 86 passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Mrs. Kennedy was born July 17, 1927 in Wilkes County to Ossie and Roxie Jolly Yarboro. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Central Full Gospel and was an avid fisher, Christian witness and was faithful to the Lord. She also enjoyed cooking and fellowship with friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Kennedy. Survivors include: son, Robert Nathaniel Kennedy and wife Deborah of Harmony; daughter, Ann Kennedy Crews and husband Jeffrey of Union Grove; brothers, Jimmy Yarboro and wife Carol of Texas and Rev. Jerry Yarboro and wife Judy of Elkin; sisters, Magdalene Horton of King and Lula Mae Johnson of Elkin; sisters-in-law, Lucy K. Kelly of Trinity and Colleen Kennedy of Elkin; grandchildren, Bethany Crews, Amanda Kennedy, Ethan Crews and Morgan Kennedy. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Full Gospel with Rev. Bobby Norman, Rev. Jerry Yarboro and Mr. Ethan Crews officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will accepted or memorials may be made to Central Full Gospel, P.O. Box 35, State Road NC 28676 or Mountain Park Cemetery, 123 Liberty School Road, State Road NC 28676.
