Sun City West, Arizona, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalms 116:15 Mrs. Reba Jane Callaway Norman , age 94, formerly of Thurmond, was called home to the Father on Saturday February 22, 2014. She was born September 15, 1919 to Wiley and Alza Vestal Callaway. Reba attended school at Roaring Gap through the 7th grade then went to Mountain Park High School where she graduated. She was faithful to attend church including Roaring Gap Baptist, White Rock Methodist, Mountain Park Methodist, and Central Full Gospel. Her span of church service over the years included being a Sunday School Teacher and sing in the choir. She was a member of the Thurmond Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan Norman, a son David W. Norman, a brother Paul Callaway, a nephew Paul Callaway Jr., and two grandsons David Martin and David Barker. Surviving family members are a son Jerry Norman and wife Christine of Phoenix, Az; daughter Deanna Warren of Elkin, daughter Janie Barker and husband Jerry of Ronda, daughter Lucy Taylor of Thurmond, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Full Gospel with Rev. Bobby Norman officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The words of II Timothy 4:8 sum up her life when they say "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
