Wanda Stamper Proffit

February 12, 1938 — February 11, 2014

Mrs. Wanda Lee Stamper Proffit, age 75, formerly of Galax, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born February 12, 1938 in Alleghany County to Bacle and Hazel Royal Stamper. Mrs. Proffit was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Glade Valley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Stamper. Survivors include: her husband, Henry Proffit of the home; daughters, Kay Cochran and her husband Mike of Winston-Salem, Pamela Moose and her husband Tommy of Yadkinville, and Penny Beck and her husband Todd of High Point; grandchildren; Shane Cochran, Shannon Moose, and Jessica Brown; and great grandchildren, Cody Cochran and Lucas Cochran. Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Jan Shaw, PO Box 115, Roaring Gap, NC 28668. The family would like to thank the staff of Kate B. Reynolds, Rev. Ike Patterson, and the many friends and family for their visits and prayers.
