Betty H. Mallory, 81, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late, William B. and Etta Curry Hemric and she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Ira S. Mallory; a brother, William B. Hemric, Jr.; two sisters, Peggy Wiles and Agnes Holcomb. A born again child of Christ, she was a faithful member of Great Hope Baptist Church.Betty loved people and was a gentle servant giving her time and talents to the community; helping others. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela L. Morefield and husband John, Kimberly I. Moseley and husband Marty; a grandson, Jonathan Morefield and wife Stephanie. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery, Thurmond, NC. Rev. E.R. Wiles and her pastor John Godfrey will officiate. There will be no local viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Elkin Funeral Service is assisting with local arrangements.
