Mr. Larry James Wilmoth, age 66 passed away January 22, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice & Palative care in Winston Salem. Mr. Wilmoth was born July 12, 1947 in Elkin, NC to Coy Eldon Wilmoth and Annie Mae Garris Wilmoth. Mr. Wilmoth was a graduate of Elkin High School in 1965 and then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Wurtzburg Germany as a Private 1st class. He retired from Danny Herman Trucking after 35 years. Larry enjoyed his family, loved camping and fishing at the beach, oil painting, landscapes, seascapes, flowers and roses, gardening and playing the guitar. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kati Jean Parker. Survivors include: two daughters, Kristy Wilmoth Parker and husband David of Wallburg and Annie Virginia Wilmoth of El Paso, TX; sister, Priscilla Nance and husband Dallas; brothers, Jerry Eldon Wilmoth and wife Yolanda and Wayne Cox Wilmoth and wife Mary; grandchildren, Taylor James Parker, Tanner Harlan Parker and Tucker Dale Parker; three special nieces and six special nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with full Military honors provided by Yadkin VFW post 10346 Honor Guard and the Army National Guard.
