Mrs. Fay Warren Harris, age 87 of Traphill, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. She was born July 28, 1926 in Wilkes County to Henry and Mary Jane Royal Warren. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of Old Roaring River Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Herman Harris and was the last surviving of 10 siblings. Survivors include: son, Dale Harris of Traphill; daughter, Judy Dupree of Roaring River; grandchildren, Pamela Walker, Chris Walker, Mike Walker, and Edwin Dupree; great grandchildren, Sam Walker and Faye Royal. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Roaring River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Old Roaring River Baptist Church or Garden Creek Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Dr. Evan Ballard for their care.
