Mr. Roger Lee Adkins, age 58, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013. Mr. Adkins was born October 28, 1955 in Nicholas County, West Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed with R.J. Reynolds for 31 years. Mr. Adkins was owner of Galaxy Filters in Elkin. A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.at First Baptist Church of Elkin. The family will receive guests at the church and Cedarbrook Country Club following the memorial service. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to The Ark, PO Box 102 Elkin NC, 28621 or Galliean Childrens Home PO Box 880 Liberty, KY 42539. The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center and ICU for their care.
