Mr. James Elmer Simpson, age 81, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013. Mr. Simpson was born in Surry County December 13, 1932 to Byrd Columbus and Ruth Eller Simpson. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister. Survivors include: brothers, Curtis Ray Simpson and wife Pearl of Elkin, Reggie Columbus Simpson and wife Grace of Jonesville; sister-in-law, Ethel Mae Simpson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 27, 2013 at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Royall officiating. Burial will follow at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
