Dixie Wiles Settle

Mrs. Dixie Lee Wiles Settle, age 81, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. She was born January 8, 1932 in Surry County to Luther and Lucille Wyrick Wiles. Mrs. Settle was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Paul Settle; sisters, Ollie Finney, Gladys Louise "Polly" Cook, and Lucille "Tootsie" Pennington; and brothers, Wilson Wiles and Jake Wiles. Survivors include: her son, Ron Settle and his wife Patricia of Whiteville; grandsons, Steven Settle of Greenville and David Settle and wife Pamela Christine of Greenville. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, December 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gwyn Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. The family would like to thank the staff of Lake Point Assisted Living, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, and the Primary Class at Little Elkin Baptist Church for their care. The family requests that memorials be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church.
