Mrs. Ruby Lee Nixon Loyd, age 67 passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Mrs. Loyd was born December 18, 1946 in Surry County to Roy Lee and Tessie Inez Cox Nixon. Mrs. Loyd was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church Survivors include: her husband, Sam Loyd of the home; son, Tracy Loyd of State Road; daughter, Tonya Triplett and husband Bobby of Elkin; sisters, Barbara Norman of Greensboro, Joyce Loyd and husband Claude of State Road, Fredia Bradshaw and husband Tim of Greensboro, Scotty Absher and husband David of State Road, Lisa Eldridge and husband Jeff of Thurmond and Anita Upright and husband Billy of Elkin; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 20, 2013 at Mining Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Loyd, Rev. Keith Wood, Rev. Terry Longworth and Rev. Travis Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge St. Elkin, NC 28621.
