Mr. Philip Leon Wood, age 45, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013. He was born November 20, 1968 in Surry County to Boyd and Iva Dean Royal Wood. Mr. Wood was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: his parents Boyd and Iva Dean Wood of State Road; wife, Eva M. Wood of State Road; daughter, Kimberly Wood of Hampstead; step daughters, Laken Renee Hutchens of State Road and Rebecca Lynne Hutchens of State Road; brothers, Dean Wood and his wife Linda of State Road and Mark Wood and his wife Regina of State Road; sisters, Mary Etta Shores and her husband Mike of State Road, Karen Lloyd and her husband Frank of Thurmond, and Lou Jane Shores and her husband Phillip of Thurmond; and one step granddaughter, Ariane Rose Woodle. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Travis Lloyd, Rev. Mark Wood, Rev. Mike Cheek and Rev. Tony White officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Project Lazarus, PO Box 261, Moravian Falls, NC 28654 or to Boyd and Iva Dean Wood.
