Mr. Roscoe Clarence "R.C." Chambers, age 86 passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Chambers was born October 10, 1927 in Surry County to Gordon and Allene Seagraves Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of the State Road Vol. Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son, Christopher Chambers; daughter, Janet Elaine Chambers and sister, Ann Shore. Survivors include: his wife, Naida B. Chambers of the home; daughter, Susan Sewell and husband Tony of Mountain Park; brother, Garvey Chambers of Greensboro; grandson, Aaron Sewell and wife Missy of State Road and great-granddaughter, Ashley Sewell;nephew, David Chambers and niece, Patricia Vaughan. Funeral services will be conducted Friday,November 22, 2013 at Pleasant View Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Finley McCoury and Rev. Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 199 Mining School Rd, State Road, NC 28676.
