Mrs. Vassie Carter Luffman, age 81, passed away Tuesday November 19, 2013 at Upac Health Care of Elkin. Mrs. Luffman was born January 13, 1932 in Surry County to Kenis Montgomery and Hallie Norman Carter. Mrs. Luffman was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Collins and a brother, Harley Carter. Survivors include; her husband, Haston Luffman of the home, three sons, Tony Luffman and wife Debbie of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Joey Luffman and wife Joyce of State Road, Randy Luffman of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Christy Luffman, Kim Caccavale and husband Steve all of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Joshua Luffman and wife Megan of Greer, SC, Kara Lyles and husband Brent of West Palm Beach, FL, Melissa Valentine and husband Jason of Elkin, Regina Davis and husband Brandon of Mt. Airy, Chris Luffman and wife Tiffany of Wilkesboro, Kristen Norman and husband Mark of Elkin, great grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Bella Davis, Seth Evans, Eli Luffman, Elijah Evans, Zayda Caccavale, Maya Caccavale, two brothers, Ernest Carter of Elkin, K.M. Carter of Yadkinville, three sisters, Evon Couch of Elkin, Mildred Axel of FL, Peggy Cornelius of Pilot Mtn. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mitch Smith and Rev. David Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church 1997 Pleasant Ridge Road, State Road, NC 28676.
