Mabel Murray Gaskill

March 13, 1915 — November 9, 2013

Mrs. Mabel Murray Brown Gaskill age 98, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013. She was born March 13, 1915 in Wilkes County to Rev. Lewis B. and Esta Billings Murray. Mrs. Gaskill was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a past member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, David A. Brown, Sr., second husband Chris Gaskill; brother, L.B. Murray, Jr.; half sisters, Vert Tomlinson, Carmen McDowell; half brothers. Arvil Murray and Carl Murray; beloved niece, Katy Murray Sale. Survivors include: son, David A. Brown, Jr. of State Road; daughter Carole Brown Williams of State Road; grandchildren, Edward Dalrymple, David Dalrymple, Amy Myers and Jacob Ryan Brown; seven great grandchildren; nieces, Emma Jean Tomlinson of High Point, Betty Sale Simpson of High Point and Nancy Murray Patterson of Mooresville; great niece, Falon. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Smith and Rev. Vernon Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Mission Team, 1997 Pleasant Ridge Road, State Road, NC 28676.
