Mrs. Mary Lee Welborn, age 86 passed away, Thursday, October 24, 2013. Mrs. Welborn was born April 25, 1927 in Wilkes County to Harrison and Bertha Pruitt Barker. Mrs. Welborn was a member of Benham Baptist Church and attended Dennyville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Welborn was preceded in death by her husband, Pless Welborn; daughter Karen Rose; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: son, Randall Welborn and wife Shelia of Chapel Hill; brothers, Rex Barker of Roaring River, Kenneth Barker of Raleigh, Benny Barker of Winston Salem and Luther Barker of Roaring River; sister, Hazel Blevins of Roaring River; grandchildren, Brandy Church, Matt Rose and Blake Rasnake; four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Elmer Barker officiating. Burial will follow at Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family request memorials be made to Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2713 Old Highway 60 Ronda, NC 28670.
