Barbara Jean Goforth

Barbara Jean Goforth, 67, passed away Friday October 18, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Goforth was born in Wilkes County November 28, 1945 to Dewey and Grace Richardson Byrd. Mrs. Goforth retired from Forsyth Medical Center and was a member of Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a dear and loving sister to all her siblings and loved the Lord very much. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Edsel Byrd and a sister, Lillian Byrd. Survivors include; a son, Barton Goforth of Winston Salem. Four brothers, Douglas Byrd and wife Geneva of Roaring River, Keith Byrd of N. Wilkesboro, Hal Byrd of Winston Salem, Billy Osborne and wife Linda of Elkin, four sisters, Crystal Hayes and husband Ronald of Winston Salem, Vivian Walls and husband Raymond of Roaring River, Aileen Bauguess and husband Battler of Pfafftown, Brenda Tedder and husband Junior of Wilkesboro. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 1pm at Rachel Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor Wesley McCloud. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to National MS Society 2211 West Meadowview Rd., Suite 30 Greensboro, NC 27407
