Mrs. Azelyne Miller Collins, age 83 passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Mrs. Collins was born November 10, 1929 in Yadkin County to Sidney and Beulah Shore Miller. Mrs. Collins was an active member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Hickory. She had a love of life, people, and her family .Mrs. Collins had a very generous heart and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Monroe Collins and sister, Nola Miller Turbiville. Survivors include: sons, Andy Eric Collins of Hamptonville and Sidney Collins and wife Tamara of Hamptonville; daughter, Cindy Collins McQueen of Elkin; brothers, Lester Miller of Hamptonville and L.F. Miller of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Katie Wilson of Hickory, Ashley Collins of Hickory, Eric Collins of Hickory, Hannah Walsh of Greensboro, Chloe Reavis of Elkin and Troy Collins of Hamptonvlle; great grandchildren, Jaslyn Marie Collins, Jordan Collins, Jalen Collins and Kason Reavis. Celebration of life services will be conducted Monday, October 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hickory and Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hamptonville with Dr. Bill Leathers and Dr. Joey Tomlin officiating. The family will receive friends following the services. Memorials may be made to the Children's Home Society, 4265 Brownsboro Rd # 214, Winston Salem NC, 27106. The family would like to thank all those that expressed support and comfort during this difficult time.
