Mr. Perry Neal Garris, age 70 passed away, Monday, September 30, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 7, 1943 in Yadkin County to Beulah and Luther Garris. Mr. Garris was retired from Wilkes Electric Armature. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Garris, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: son, Jeff Garris of Jonesville; daughter, Janet Childress and husband Keith of Wilkesboro; brother, Leo Garris of Elkin; sisters, Ellen Wilkins and husband Larry of Boonville, Katie Darnell of Elkin, Martha Absher and husband Ronald of Elkin, and Gerri Key of Dobson; grandchildren, Andrew Long, Amber Long, Jade Garris, and McKinley Garris; and great grandchildren, Kaden McHone and Brady Long. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
