Mrs. Wilma Sale Welborn, age 87 of Ronda, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Welborn was born August 30, 1926 in Forsyth County to Claude Watkins Sale and Nancy Cooke Sale. She was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was an active member of Temple Hill United Methodist Church, having served on many committees as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Welborn; son, Perry Mitchell Welborn; and brother, Ray Edsel Sale. Survivors include: her daughter, Rebecca W. Childress and her husband Charles of Thurmond; daughter-in-law, Patricia P. Welborn of Union Grove; sister, Martha S. Randleman of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Jason Welborn and his wife Jaime of Louisiana, Jon Welborn and his wife Amber of Advance, Jason Childress and his wife Brandi of Mountain Park, Michael Childress and his wife Katie of Ronda; great grandchildren, Samara Welborn, Jodie Childress, Amy Childress, Isabell Anna Welborn, Ethan Childress, Meadow Welborn, Makinzi Childress, and Belle Welborn. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Richard, Mr. Hugh Goforth, and Mr. Michael Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that memorials be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or Temple Hill United Methodist Church, 172 Captain Day Road, Ronda, NC 28670.
