Mr. Alfred Calvin Adams, age 73 passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Mr. Adams was born October 6, 1939 in Surry County to Paul and Vertis White Adams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Elgin Adams, sister; Brenna Cox and step sons; Leon Tomccak and David Bates. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Adams of the home, step son; Robert Gower, step daughters; Linda Plumbley, Rebecca Bates, Cindy Smith, Elizabeth Bates, Roberta Gower, Deborah Williams and LeeAnn Taylor, twenty two grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Curtis Ponder officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service
