Mr. Lindbergh Ward Swaim, age 85 passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Mr. Swaim was born in Yadkin County to Henry Ward and Lila O'Neal Swaim. Mr. Swaim was a member of Jonesville First United Methodist Church. Mr. Swaim was presently serving as Mayor of Jonesville and held that office for many years. He was also a member of the Lions Club, Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce, Yadkin County Board of Education and was the past Master of Masonic Lodge #454 and served 42 years as the Chief for the Jonesville Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Wood Swaim. Survivors include: sons; Barry Swaim and wife Lois of Jonesville and Danny "Boone" Swaim and wife Norma Ritchie of Elkin, daughter; Tenia Vestal and husband Bobby of Jonesville, sister; Frances Vestal of Winston Salem, grandchildren; Stephanie Phillips and husband Jamie, Crystal Mason and husband Erin, Amanda Karnes and husband Russell, Jennifer Parks and husband Eric, Danielle Swaim and Timmy Vestal and wife Kenzee, great-grandchildren; Bryson Phillips, Jake Karnes and a great granddaughter to be born in October, special friends;Patsy Pardue of Elkin and Duane Gilpin of Jonesville. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Jonesville First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Judy Davis and Rev. Joe Fulk Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, August 23,2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jonesville First United Methodist Church 311 West Main St. Jonesville, NC 28621.
