Mr. Archie Clifton Tucker, age 78, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013. Mr. Tucker was bron March 10, 1935 in Wilkes County to Wayne and Ruth Flynn Tucker. Mr. Tucker was a member at Little Elkin Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years and enjoyed running the sound system for the Church. He served ten years in the United States National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister; Gayla Bryant. Survivors include:his wife; Faye Tucker of the home, daughters; Debbie Calloway and husband Scotty of Jonesville, Jan Dinkins and husband Jeff of Boonville and Kim Burchell and husband Mike of Raleigh, brother; Johnny Tucker of Ronda, sisters; Ruby Holcomb and husband Tommy of Traphill, Patsy Wilson of Raleigh, Cathy Settle and husband David of Elkin and Jennie Jaworski of Winston Salem, grandchildren; Carrie Spann and husband Brock, Chris Calloway and wife Leigh, and Brooke Dinkins, great-grandchildren; Hunter Spann and Kaylee Spann. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. Gwyn Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church Building Fund, 1161 Little Elkin Church Road, Ronda, NC 28670 or Mountain Valley Hospice 688 North Bridge St. Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to thank the staff at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care they gave Mr. Tucker.
