Mr. Benny Robert Martin, age 61, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013. He was born July 29, 1951 in Surry County to Paul Robert and Ruby Ethel Jenkins Martin. Mr. Martin was a former Karate instructor, earning several degrees, and was a former Law Enforcement officer. Survivors include: son, Robbie Martin and his wife Melissa of Millers Creek; brother, Donnie Martin and his wife Dana of Jonesville; sister, Regina Ball and her husband Ronnie of Jonesville; grandchildren, Cameron, Dawson, Kylee, and Rylan. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jerry Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
