Mrs. Sally Southard Reynolds, age 75 passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Reynolds was born July 26, 1937 in Surry County to Alvin Dixie and Myrtle Wall Southard. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Bessies Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Reynolds; Nephews, Mark Southard and Brett Ray; brother-in-law, Charles Cook. Survivors include: her daughter, Tracy Burleson and husband Richard of State Road; brothers, Bill Southard and wife Dolores of Elkin and Donald Southard and wife Jean of High Point; sisters, Betty Cook of Dobson and Annie Ray and husband Thomas of Elkin; one grandson, the joy of her life Cameron Burleson. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessies Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Groce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bessies Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 622 Bessies Chapel Church Rd Elkin, NC, 28621. The family would like to thank Dr. Shelburne and staff at Jonesville Family Medical Center, and Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for the loving care they gave Mrs. Reynolds.
