Mildred Lawrence Luffman

September 11, 1922 — July 4, 2013

Mrs. Mildred Lawrence Luffman, age 90 passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Luffman was born September 11, 1922 in Surry County to Thomas and Mary Holcomb Lawrence. Mrs. Luffman worked for Chatham Manufacturing for 46 years and was a member in the Lucy Hanes Chatham Club; she was also a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of the WMU. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Lawrence, Odell Lawrence, Roy Lawrence, Ralph Lawrence and Bob Lawrence, four sisters, Grace McCoin, Opal Transou, Beulah Lawrence and Betty Madacsi. Survivors include: Special Niece; Cindy Thomas, several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great- nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family request that memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, MT. Airy, NC 27030.
