Mr. Robert Carroll Landry, 82, passed awayThursday, June 13, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Landry was born June 19, 1930 in Waterville, Maine. Mr. Landry served in the US Navy during the Korean War. A devoted family man, Bob was extremely proud of his family members. Second to his wife, Virginia of 58 years he loved flying. Countless hours was spent flying his cessna 182. This passion for flying was inherited by each of his sons. They spent innumerble hours together working on the family planes. If a tool was needed, it was common for Bob to use his tool and dye engineering experience to create it. A kind and generous man, Bob was known for his thoughtful concern for others as well as needy animals. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. Landry and four siblings. Survivors include: his sons, Robert J.Landry and wife Kay, Richard Landry,Michael Landry and wife Lisa, David Landry and wife Regina. Daughters: Carol Landry Fiske and husband John, Kathy Landry and her special friend Peter Graham, Susan Weatherman and husband Tim, one sister, Rita Huard of Waterville, Maine. Grandchildren include, Holly L. Johnson and husband Brady, Heidi L. Koski and husband Kevin, Chris Miller and wife Jennifer, Carrie Miller, Ian Fiske and wife Allison, Meghan F. Phillips and husband Zach, Meridith Landry, Alec Landry, Anna W. Welborn and husband Garrett, Jordan Weatherman, Kyle Weatherman, Vincent Reel. Great grandchildren include, Clay Johnson, Alex Johnson, Kennedy Koski, and Baby Welborn due January 2014. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 15, 2013 at Elkin Municipal Airport with Rev. Mark Barden and Rev. Kenny Wood officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice 688 N. Bridge Street Elkin, NC 28621 or Surry Animal Rescue 112 Quail Run Road Mt.
