Mrs.Virginia Louise Call Byrd, age 70, passed away Tuesday, June 11,2013. Mrs.Byrd was born August 8,1942 in Wilkes County to Everette and Louise Brown Call. Mrs.Byrd was a member of Mt Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Clinton Call and sister, Florene York. Survivors include: husband, Rayvaughn Byrd of the home; daughters, Jennifer King and husband T.P. of State Road and Julie Simpson and husband Matthew of State Road; son, Jeff Byrd and wife Kristi of State Road; brothers, Conley Call and wife Gracie of N.Wilkesboro and Lawrence Call and wife Lynnette of Wilkesboro; sister, Betty Anderson of N.Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Nichole Luffman, Hayley Luffman, Austin Luffman, Ryan Simpson, Riley Simpson, Aiden Byrd; and two step grandchildren Allison King and Paula King. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 14,2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt.Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Simpson and Rev. Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hosiptal Foundation, P.O. box 560, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Forsyth Memorial Hospital and Teddy and Sybil Caudill, Dwayne and Jenny Bryd, Gary and Caroyln Byrd, Charlie and Brenda Pack for their care.
