Reba Newman Rogers Brown, 85, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born November 11, 1927 in Surry County to Fletcher and Bertha Billings Newman. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church in Wilkesboro. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Buck Rogers, her brothers, Jim Newman, Bill Newman and Jack Newman Survivors include; her husband, Richard Brown of the home, two step sons, David Richard Brown and Timothy Allen Brown, brothers, Don Newman, Bobby Newman, Johnny Newman, sisters, Nell Newman and Ruby Wagoner, three step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Rev. Tim Pruitt. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
