Mrs. Kristie Dawn Cudd Mahan, age 40, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley. Mrs. Mahan was born March 11, 1973 in Catawba County, NC to Vernon J. Cudd and Betty Jean Byrd Cudd. She attended Bolt Church of God. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by grandparents Hazel and Preston Byrd and Guydana Walker. Survivors include: her husband, Glenn Mahan of the home; special pets, Bullet and Pickles; mother, Betty Jean Cudd of Elkin; grandfather, E.S. Walker of Lavonia, GA., brother, Dr. Keith Cudd and wife Jennifer of Jefferson, Ga., sister, Kelly Thompson and husband Jimmy of Elkin; nieces Nicole Tait and Cameron Cudd and nephews Stephen Johnson and Shane Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Keith Cudd officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family would like to thank the nurses of Raleigh General Hospital CCU and aunts, Joyce Bell, Janet Harold, and Brenda Milan for their care.
