Mr. Gregory Wayne Rose, age 41 passed away, May 1, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Rose was born February 18, 1972 in Surry County to Wayne and Judy Lankford Rose. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his step mother, Karen Rose; maternal grandmother, Stella Lankford and paternal grandparents, Wilson and Opal Rose. Survivors include: his father, Wayne Rose of Ronda; mother, Judy Childress of Elkin; son, Adam Wayne Rose of Dobson; maternal grandfather, Clifford Lankford of Ronda; brothers, Joseph Childress of Boonville and Matt Rose of Ronda; sisters, Wendy Childress Anthony of Yadkinville and Brandy Rose of Wilkesboro; two nephews; four nieces and a niece or nephew on the way; special friends, Lon and Carey Lowe; the staff of Ziggy's Last Resort, Bucked Up Super Saloon and Johnny and Junes and several other special family and friends. Graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwayne Lankford (Mr. Rose's Uncle) officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to service at Elkin Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Greg Rose Fund c/o Adam Rose, State Employees Credit Union, 826 E. Atkins Street, Dobson, NC 27017.
