Mr. Banner Odell Blevins, age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Blevins was born January 30, 1928 in Wilkes County to Sanford and Cora Cleary Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Arcille H. Blevins of the home; sons; Jimmy Blevins of Thurmond and Bobby Blevins of Austin; brothers, Henry Blevins of Traphill and Kelly Blevins of Traphill; sister, Alice Shune of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Rachel Shores and Timmy Blevins and great grandchildren, Lacie Cockerham, Cameron Shores, Allie Bobbitt and Quentin Hart. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Russ Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
