Mrs. Daisy Marie Medley Owens, age 89, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. Mrs. Owens was born October 30, 1923 in Davie County to Garland James and Margaret Ettabelle Doss Medley. Mrs. Owens was strong in her Christian faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Owens; three brothers, Norman Medley, John Medley and J.C. Medley. Survivors include: her son, John Phillip Owens and wife Nancy of Pleasant Garden; daughters, Margaret Elizabeth Owens Coe of Thurmond; Linda Mae Owens O'Neal of Elkin and Glinda Kay Owens Coe and husband Jerry Lee of Thurmond; brother, James Edgar Medley; sisters, Rosa Lee Weaver and husband Dale, Margie Belle Trivette and husband Donald, Margaret Francess Collins, Sarah Pettis Blackburn, Samantha Jane Collins and husband Raymond, Elizabeth Ann Youngquist and husband Frank and Sadie Juanita Bauguess and husband Duffie; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Adam Collins officiating. Burial will follow in White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
