Retha Ellen Brown Pinnix

July 26, 1951 — February 19, 2013

Mrs. Retha Ellen Brown Pinnix, age 61, passed away February 19, 2013 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Pinnix was born July 26, 1951 in Wilkes County to Joseph and Ruth Snow Brown. Mrs. Pinnix attended Second Chance Church in Fairview. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Terrell Brown and wife Libby Brown and sister-in-law, Evalyn Brown. Survivors include: her husband Daniel C. Pinnix of the home; son, Daniel Lee Pinnix and wife Melinda of Ronda; daughter, Dana Pinnix Wiles and husband Jeffrey of Hamptonville; brother, Kenneth Brown of Traphill; sister, Mary Gregory and husband Pete of Hamptonville; grandchild, Daniel Lee Pinnix, Jr; step grandchildren, Madison Clay, Christian Swaim, Joshua Wiles, Kayla Wiles and Alexis Wiles and step great grandchildren, Patience Wiles, Joslyn Wiles, Jedrek Wiles and Kainzlee Wiles. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Terry Coe officiating. Burial will follow in Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
