Ms. Rachel Ellen Peters, age 18, passed away Friday January 4, 2013 in Knoxville, TN. Rachel was born February 3, 1994 in Ft. Knox, KY to Sean and Karen Smith Peters. Rachel was a student at Surry Community College and attended Salem Baptist Church in Dobson. Survivors include; her parents, Sean and Karen Peters, her sister, Megan Peters, her maternal grandmother, Joanne Weasner Smith. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 12, 2013 at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel at 10:00 am conducted by Rev. Steve Kramm. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607-3000.
