Mr. Derrick F. Dimmette, age 56 of Ronda passed away December 26, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Dimmette was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 9, 1956 to Fred C. and Eloise L. Dimmette. Mr. Dimmette graduated from East Wilkes High School on June 4, 1974 and received his Bachelor of Science degree on May 14, 1995 from Appalachian State University. Mr. Dimmette was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Dimmette traveled to Germany, Belgium and California. His travels took him to many different states. Mr. Dimmette worked at Chatham Manufacturing from September 23, 1978 to March 1986 and worked at Speedy Chef for many years. Survivors include: His father, Fred C. Dimmette and mother, Eloise L. Dimmette of Ronda; brothers, Dennis C. Dimmette of Elkin and Maverick G. Dimmette and wife Nancy of State Road; nieces, Danielle Dimmette of Yadkinville and Samantha Dimmette and Makaylan Dimmette of State Road and nephew, Lindsey Dimmette of Elkin; aunts, Barbara Cockerham of High Point; Mary Lucy Davis of Ronda; Ethel Sparks of Roaring River; Geraldine Love of North Wilkesboro and Jettie Love of Wilkesboro; uncle, Joe Cockerham of High Point and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mickey Brooks and Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be: Rickey Money, Dale Smith, Bo Wilborn, John Cook, Ralph Macemore and Charles Cook.
