Mary Imogene Scott

May 10, 1929 — December 18, 2012

Mrs. Mary Imogene Scott, age 83, passed away, Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Scott was born May 10, 1929 in Surry County to Noah and Eva Sturdivant Wagoner. Mrs. Scott was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carmel Lee Crump, son, Michael Lee Crump, brother, Thomas Calvin Wagoner and sisters, Era Lee Poindexter and Frances Felts. Survivors include: Daughter, Eva Jean Hodge of Elkin; sister, Shelba Walls and husband Robert of Elkin; grandchildren, Adam Lee Hodge, Melanie Hawkins and Emily York and great grandchildren, Brielle Hodge and Jackson York. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds and Dr. Gary Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be: Lt. Col. Norman Walls of Raleigh; Neil Walls of Elkin; Tommy Crump of Elkin; Stanley Crump of Winston-Salem; Donald Felts of Iron Station; Jimmy Felts of Walkertown and Randy Wagoner of Columbia, SC. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care.
