Desmond Finney

October 7, 1933 — December 16, 2012

Mr. Desmond Finney, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Finney was born October 7, 1933 in Yadkin County to Major and Myrtle Cheek Finney. Mr. Finney was a retired mason and was a member of Central Full Gospel Church where he played the organ for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ransom Finney and Herman Finney. Survivors include; his wife, Betty Wagoner Finney of the home, a brother-in-law, Monroe Wagoner and his wife MaryAnn, two sisters-in-law, Barbara Finney and Pauline Darnell and her husband Elwood, two nephews, Tamie Finney and wife Linda and Darrell Finney, several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 2pm at Central Full Gospel Church conducted by Rev. Bobby Norman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.
