Charles Jefferson "Jeff" Darnell

Mr. Charles Jefferson "Jeff" Darnell, age 81, of State Road passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Darnell was born January 16, 1931 in Grayson County, VA to Lonnie Albert and Gertrude Haynes Darnell, Sr. Mr. Darnell was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, L.A. Darnell, Jr. Survivors include: wife, Jo C. Darnell of the home; son, Ricky Darnell and wife Phyllis; daughter, Lynn Draughn; brother, Curtis Darnell and wife Dorothy; sister, Betty Cockerham and husband Kent all of State Road; grandchildren, Julie Arnold and husband Danny and Adam Crouse. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 130, State Road, NC 28676. The family would like thanks to doctors and staff of Forsyth Medical, staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital ER and Dr. Erlandson for their care.
