James Eugene Tillie

April 5, 1924 — November 22, 2012

Mr. James Eugene Tillie, age 88, of Elkin passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Hospice Home at High Point. Mr. Tillie was born April 5, 1924 in Wilkes County to James Luther and Minerva McCann Tilley. Mr. Tillie was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and a veteran of US Navy serving during WWII . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Lee Tilley, brothers, Winfield Levi Tilley, Thurmond Emerson Tilley, William Russell Tilley and Earlie Clyde Tilley and sister, Eloise Violet McCann. Survivors include: wife, Ruth Wooten Tillie; sons, Ronnie James Tilley and wife Linda of Trinity and Scotty Lewis Tilley of High Point; stepdaughters, Dorothy Yale, Elouise Davis, Emilie Mahmood and Julia Ann Johnson; brother, Roger Seth Tilley; sisters, Joyce Ann Hincher and Edna Juanita Lyon; granddaughter, Lisa Diane Reedy and great grandchildren, Jeremiah Cecil and Jacob Reedy. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 26, 2012 at Oak Level Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Matty Ponce-de-Leon and Rev. Garwood Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Level Baptist Church Cemetery with military rights provided by Wilkes County Honor Guard Post 1142. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or Hospice of The Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262
