Mr. Ralph Gray Colvard, age 98 of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Colvard was born October 6, 1914 in Wilkes County to Carrie Finney Colvard and Wiley J. Colvard In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Vestal Colvard; sister, Carrie Clay, brother, Vernon Colvard, grandson, Larry Steven Colvard, Jr., granddaughter, Angie Colvard, great grandson, Douglas Wayne Colvard, Jr., and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Isabella Grubbs. Survivors include: daughters, Shirley Holbrook of Jonesville, Barbara Childress and her husband Roger of Jonesville, Sarah Stinson and her husband Varner of Pfafftown, and Yvonne Johnson and her husband Roger of Jonesville; sons, Bobby Colvard and his wife Irene of Elkin and Larry Colvard and his wife Brenda of Dobson; sister, Lillie Mae Wooten of South Carolina; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Bill and Renee Bovender officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank Mildred Sneed- caregiver, the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and Dr. Tomas Vybrial for their care.
