Mrs. Emma E. Browne passed away, Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Browne was a volunteer with meals on wheels for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beuford Browne and her brother, Bobby Crouse. Survivors include: son, Douglas Browne and his wife, Judy of Gastonia; step-father, Woodrow Crouse of Union Hill; grandchildren, Matthew L. Browne, Wendy McCraw, Gwendolyn Shields and Thomas Adair; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ivan Dameron and Rev. Bobby Dameron officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Elkin Funeral Service.
