Bretta Money Luffman

February 28, 1913 — September 26, 2012

Mrs. Bretta Money Luffman, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Mrs. Luffman was born February 28, 1913 in Wilkes County to Willie B and LuAda Laster Money. Mrs. Luffman was a faithful member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Luffman was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Luffman, her second husband, Bradford Luffman, two infant daughters, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include: a daughter, Thelma L. Lay and husband Elton of Elkin; three stepchildren, Pansy Byrd and husband, Mack, J.B. Luffman and wife Bennie and David Luffman and wife Peggy all of Ronda; a sister, Hallie Luffman of Elkin; three grandchildren, Greg and Jolie Lay, Steve and Anna Lay and Kevin and Ashley Lay; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. Gwyn Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Luffman during her illness. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church Building Fund, 641 Mounce Road, Ronda, NC 28670.
