Vernon Edward Smoot

Mr. Vernon Edward Smoot, age 49, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born January 16, 1962 in Surry County to Margaret McCann Smoot and Sebon Smoot. Ed was employed with Pine Log Company and attended Cool Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Smoot and Randall Smoot. Survivors include: his mother, Margaret M. Smoot of Elkin; daughter, Bobbie Santana Smoot of Roaring River, Bobbie's mother, Rosie Smoot of Roaring River; brother, Howard Smoot of Elkin; and several special cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Charity United Methodist Church with Rev. Rex Cranfill and Rev. Michael Osborne officiating.
