Mr. Denver Curtis Hayes, age 77 of Elkin, passed away, Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1935 in Wilkes County to Thomas Jesse Hayes and Docia Scott Hayes. Mr. Hayes was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Ray Hayes. Survivors include: his wife, Martha H. Hayes of the home; a son, Randy Hayes and his wife, Delane of Elkin; daughter, Rita Ashley of Elkin; daughter, Lisa Lineberry and husband Tom of Elkin; sister, Bonnie Wood and her husband Henry of Elkin; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mickey Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Knobbs Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
