Ronda Mr. Rufus Ray Combs, 69, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Combs was born in Wilkes County September 20, 1942 to Arlis Ray and Dorothy Blevins Combs. Mr. Combs retired from Bassett Furniture and attended Ronda Baptist Tabernacle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Combs, Raymond Combs, Roger Combs and a sister Reba Ashley. Survivors include; his wife, Claudia Combs of the home, two sons, Michael Ray Combs and wife Charlene of Boonville, Rickey Lee Combs and wife Misty of Ronda, a daughter, Teresa Ann Combs Easley and husband Wesley of Ronda, two sisters, Retha Woodie and husband Earnest of Ronda, Ruby Jenkins of Dobson, nine grandchildren, Ray Easley, Deanna Lainez, Andrew Combs, Ashleigh Combs, Alexandria Hicks, Alex Combs, Abbie Combs, Amber Combs, Jacob Combs, three great grandchildren, Bella Greene, Addison Johnston, Eli Hanson. Funeral services will be held Monday August 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at Ronda Baptist Tabernacle conducted by Rev. Josh Blevins and Rev. Scott Walsh. Burial will follow in Ronda City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:30-8:30 pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
