Mr. James Darron Holbrook, age 41 of Elkin, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was born June 3, 1971 in Surry County to Wilda Jean Baldwin Holbrook and James Norris Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was a member of Traphill Baptist Church and employed with Sheets Welding. Survivors include his wife, Mamie Holbrook of the home; son, Dillon Holbrook of the home, daughter, Layken Holbrook of the home; parents, Jean and Norris Holbrook of Elkin; sister, Jeanine Mooney and her husband Rusty; aunts and uncles, Roy Baldwin and his wife Tammy; Donna Holbrook and Rex Ray and Nancy and James Riggsbee; father-in-law, Ricky Newman; nieces, Morgan Mooney and Makenzie Mooney and nephew, Preston Mooney. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Traphill Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Trott and Rev. Jesse Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will accept flowers of memorials may be made to PO Box 192, Elkin, NC 28621 to help with final expenses.
